- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad Hello. I am still having fun and I am learning a lot. Guanajuato is an extremely old town and an extremely catholic city. In fact the pope is visiting
here in march. It is a really big deal for the people of the city. and they all seem to be pitching in to clean up the place and welcome in the pope.
I have met a couple from Portland, Oregon who are in their 50's or 60's. Their names are Mike and Denise. They are extremely nice and helpful. We walk together at night and eat dinner together. It is really great to have people to speak in english with not to mention good company from some nice people.
My daily class goes as follows
8:30 breakfast. The mom of the house always has prepared a cup of hot coffee, cup of fresh squeezed orange juice, a plate with sliced bananas, mangoes, and sliced and peeled apples and a bowl of cereal. Ha ha. I could get used to this (Hannah) (cough). Only joking
9:00. My first class is a grammar class. We are going through verbs and usages
10:00. My second class is also grammar. More verbs and usage
11:00. Next I have a cultural class where we delve in the history of mexico and why things happen like they do
12:00-3:00 Break. I usually walk around the city aimlessly listening to the chatter. Or work on some homework.
3:00. Cooking class. This is a good one. I spend one hour cooking. And most importantly eating authentic Mexican food. I am also learning names of foods, but we all know that dosent matter when your thinking about eating
4:00 Spanish practice. I work with the professor and go through Spanish linguistics
5:00 Spanish usages. This is a practical class where we actually chat and use the words and phrases I have been learning
I am finally done and usually I walk with Mike and Denise. We find some good food or explore stores and museums.
Learning TONS of Spanish and walking all over. Its different lifestyle but I can see an appeal
Love
